Morrisons has always moved fast.

And our Procurement Department moves faster than most. They make sure we have what we need when we need it. Whether that’s IT and tech equipment or energy, waste and recycling services, through to PPE and hand sanitiser to keep our people safe, plus extra delivery vans that help us serve more customers than ever.

It’s their job to build strong relationships with suppliers so they can source everything we need to keep our stores, depots and manufacturing sites running. Which, in turn, helps keep prices low for our customers.

It all means that every £1 the team saves is equivalent to taking £50 through our checkouts. And with a £1.2 billion annual spend, you can feel the impact of Procurement right across our business.

We’re leading our industry from the front

Day to day, the team is responsible for supporting many of our other departments to meet their goals. It’s about negotiating deals, managing contracts, ensuring availability of products and services, and building on innovative ideas that help drive our future strategy.

There’s a strong focus on minimising plastic packaging and waste. And a team-wide passion for delivering on our CSR agenda and prioritising the environment. It's not just about meeting regulations - it’s about leading our industry from the front.

Make an impact, from farm to fork

The team is split into a number of categories, including Property & Facilities Management, Packaging, and Logistics. Within each, you’ll find a Head of Procurement, Procurement Manager, Procurement Buyer, Procurement Assistants and more roles at every level.

Being part of the team means gaining incredible exposure to lots of different parts of our business, from virtual integration of plant machinery to IT networks, to fixtures and fittings in store. It really is  an incredible opportunity to build an understanding of the way we work from farm to fork.

It means you’ll need to be a problem solver with great relationship building and communication skills. A commercial and strategic focus is important, too. As is attention to detail and lots of ambition. And if you can bring all that, we offer a multi-year training programme and support to develop the tools and skills you’ll need to move virtually anywhere in our business.
